In the hotel grounds …
- Read a book in the lounge with a cup of coffee and a cake, in the summer we have giant chess and sun loungers on the lawn as well as croquet. A selection of board games are also provided in the lounge. In the winter warm up in front of roaring log fires.
- Have a pamper party - we have teamed up with Cotswold Beauty who can provide pamper parties at the hotel. Reservations essential.
- Wii and traditional board games available

- 7 walks available to choose from – Ask at reception for a map and order a picnic or packed lunch - we can also provide you with green wellies! We often see wildlife on our rear lawn including squirrels, rabbits, foxes, badgers and deer.
- For something a bit more organised we have teamed up with Cotswold Walking Holidays Ltd who can provide expert guides for walking in the Cotswolds. Cotswold Walking Holidays are a leading provider of walking holidays in the region, founded to encourage people to explore on foot the beauty of the Cotswolds. This area of gentle hills and honey-coloured stone villages, some 100 miles/160kms west of London, has some of the best walking in England.
- Prinknash Abbey (pronounced 'Prinnish') is a Catholic Benedictine monastery situated in the Vale of Gloucester in the Diocese of Clifton, near the village of Cranham.
- Gloucester Cathedral - Worship has taken place in this wonderful building for 900 years and it continues as a place of prayer and Christian pilgrimage.

- Gloucester Rugby - Hatton Court is just 3 miles from Kingsholm, the home of the famous Cherry & Whites, Gloucester Rugby Club
- Gloucester Docks and River Cruises- The former dock estate has become a popular destination where visitors can enjoy interesting views and a range of modern facilities while wandering around a remarkably complete example of a Victorian port. Over the August Bank Holiday 26th - 28th August 2011 the docks will be home to the Gloucester Tall Ships Festival
- Pleasure flights and flying lessons from Staverton Airport on the outskirts of Gloucester. Gloucestershire Airport is home to a number of long-established organisations which offer a range of commercial and pleasure flying lessons and scenic flights.
- The historic wool town of Painswick, known as ‘The Queen of the Cotswolds’, is one of the finest and best-preserved Cotswolds settlements, nestling quietly in the hills and surrounded by some of Gloucestershire’s most delightful countryside.
- Golf – plenty to choose from including the Painswick Golf Course. Founded in 1891 this unique ridge top course poses a unique challenge for all levels of golfers. With tight lies and interesting terrain this short course requires thought and a wide variety of shots.

- Shopping in regency Cheltenham followed by lunch or dinner at the Beehive, Montpellier. Cheltenham Spa is England's most complete Regency town and is characterized by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades that line the historic Promenade, squares and terraces. With its award-winning gardens, impressive range of stylish shops and restaurants, and its festivals of horse racing, music and literature it is a great place to visit at any time of year.
- Village of Winchcombe – Winchcombe is a small, unspoilt Cotswold town where you will still find a wealth of unique shops and places to eat and drink. It is an ideal base for walking in the Cotswolds being at the intersection of the Cotswold Way, the Gloucestershire Way, the Wardens Way, the Windrush Way, the Wychavon Way and the unofficial St Kenelm's Way.Visit Sudeley Castle close to the village and have lunch at the White Hart Inn.
- Historic old wool town of Tetbury – a town within the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire. It lies on the site of an ancient hill Tetbury became an important market for Cotswold wool and the Woolsack races. in which competitors must carry a 60 pound sack of wool up a steep hill, were founded and are still contested annually. It is a great place to hunt for antiques, visit the nearby Westonbirt Arboretum and have lunch at the Snooty Fox Hotel.
