Despite its imposing appearance today, the Hatton Court was – we think – originally a farmhouse. Over the centuries, different owners added a wing here, some Rooms there and slowly enlarged the building piecemeal.
We bought the Hotel from the Crown family (who still restaurants in the county) in 1984 when it was The Tara. So many locals still know us as “The Tara” that we sometimes think about changing the name back again! Do let us know what you think…
We now have 45 bedrooms, many with views across the Severn Vale. There are some stunning views from the restaurant and bar too, right over the Vale - so why not order up a bottle of something good, pull up a chair by the window and enjoy…
We have held various awards over the years, but amongst our accolades the one we treasure most is our “Loo of the Year” award. We were the first ever winners, way back in 1987.
